Innovating Neural Technologies for the Future
At SoMa Neurointerfaces, we are pioneering the development of soft, multimodal technologies that enhance neural interfacing and neuromodulation. Our mission is to bridge engineering and neuroscience to create solutions that have real-world clinical and scientific impact.

Our Focus Areas

Precision Neural Interfaces
We create soft, biocompatible technologies that can record and stimulate the brain with high precision. By combining electricity, light, and ultrasound, our tools explore how the nervous system works — across different depths, timescales, and regions. These multimodal interfaces support both monitoring brain activity and actively influencing it.

Translational Neurotechnology
We translate materials science and microtechnology into clinical innovation. By engineering soft, high-density neural interfaces and protective coatings using medical-grade polymers and thin film inorganics, we extend the performance and longevity of active neurotechnologies. These interfaces are designed to support multimodal sensing and stimulation in real-world, application-driven contexts.
